Subject: The power of giving a gift with a card!I will tell you, I never realized what a gift with a card would do until I received a call the other day from the boss of a restaurant server that did an excellent job serving us a while back in the hotel I was staying at while doing the Rhode Island Treat’em Right Seminar.
It was late and I was hungry. The hotel restaurant was closed, but the bar was taking orders. The bar was busy and I sat down to order. A few other Sendoutcards distributors were there, so I moved over to their table to visit. We were having a great time talking about what we Sendoutcards distributors talk about.
I noticed our server was extremely busy and unlike most servers who stress over how busy they are, she was very polite and attentive.
As I sometimes do, I asked her if I could get her information because I would like to send her a card. As she volunteered her information, I asked for her birthday so I could send her a birthday card. She wrote her birthday down, as well. A few more trips to our table I felt impressed to ask for her boss’ information. I told her I wanted her boss to know how good of a job she was doing. She came back with a card with her boss’ address and phone number.
As I retired for the evening, I put her and her boss in my Sendoutcards Contact Manager and sent her a thank you card for her very impressive service.
The next morning as the beginning of the Rhode Island Treat’em Right Seminar one of the first things we did was send a card to the boss of the lady who served us the night before. Included with the card we sent a box of Avenue Sweets (a new feature of Sendoutcards), asking her boss if he would be so kind as to give her the box of candy. We clicked send and off it went.
Here is the rest of the story …
The evening of Monday November 12th I got a phone call from the hotel bar and restaurant manager. The conversation went something like this:
“Mr. Zimmerman, this is Riley from the ______ Hotel and I am sitting here with a box, a card, my manager and the lady who served you the other night. Mr. Zimmerman, I have been in the hotel restaurant business for over 20 years and I have never had a guest do anything like this before! We were planning on giving your server a raise in a few months, but we wanted to call and let you know she is getting one today. Thank you for your kindness Mr. Zimmerman. It was well appreciated.”
As one of the Eagle’s Nest, I have had an opportunity to test all of the new gifts we can now send with a card. If you haven’t seen what we have in the way of gifts you need to click on the link below and see the 20 different items we can send with a card.
Click on each of the gifts at the bottom of the pages when you click on the links and you will see a picture, a description of the gift, how many points they take and the shipping cost.
Send a card with a gift! Watch what it can do for your business and personal life. Our gifting program to show others we care about them is one of the most power tools we have. A heartfelt card with a gift of gratitude will enhance your sending out to give this holiday season.
